| On February 9, 2008, JoAnn DeCesaris and Beth Prout Lennon were honored by the American Cancer Society with an award for the five years of dedicated fundraising for lung and ovarian cancer research efforts. The Society’s Awards Program seeks to recognize the Society’s most accomplished volunteers, among the hundreds of active volunteers supporting numerous special events and service activities throughout our region. The Award of Excellence for Income Development is an honor only bestowed on those who have made a significant impact in cancer research throughout the Baltimore/Washington area.
